Fargo-Moorhead 5 Gary SouthShore 4

The fun story to come out of this game was the return to active baseball for Chris Jacobs. Jacobs, currently the RailCats hitting coach, was activated and went 2-4. It was Jacobs first game since Game Five of the  2019 Miles Wolff Cup West Division Finals when he was with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Yep, I remember that one....  Jacobs homered 17 times and drove in 76 runs in 2019. Can he find that Jabari Henry like magic or is this a fill in gig for the 37 year old. Jose Sermo hit his 12th home run for the RedHawks that proved to be the winning run as it put them up 5-2 at the time.

Kane County 2 Sioux City 1

Little things mean a lot. And tonight it was a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt in the eighth inning that advanced runners for the Cougars to second and third, allowing a sacrifice fly by Charles Mack to bring across the eventual winning run. It was another superb start by Peniel Otano who went seven innings only allowing just one unearned run on six hits. Going into the weekend, Sioux City was wondering where the pitching would come from. Thus far it has came from the starters as they have not allowed an earned run in 18 innings. Unfortunately the offense dried up and they could not get the W tonight.

Kansas City 2 Milwaukee 1

In a rare game at a hitter's paradise with Legends Field, two runs in the fourth inning got the job done as the Monarchs put an end to the Milkmen's nine game winning streak. Grant Gambrell in his 2026 debut for the Monarchs threw five innings of shutout ball. The two teams combined for a total of 11 hits.

Sioux Falls 8 Cleburne 3

This was the tonic that the Canaries were looking for. A quality start? Check. Dylan Kirkeby went six innings allowing two runs, one earned. The bullpen took it from there only allowing a run. Mike Hart, Anthony Sharkas and Anthony Hall all homered. T.J. Racherbaumer drove in three runs. With the win, the Canaries remain just two games behind Kansas City.

Winnipeg 11 Lincoln 8

The Saltdogs and Goldeyes combined for what we will call an average 2026 American Association game, 24 combined hits, 14 combined walks. Adam Hall paced the Goldeyes going 3-5 at the plate, driving in three runs and is now riding an 11 game hitting streak.  Hall and Noah Marcelo hitting second and third in the Goldeyes order are giving Max Murphy some of the best protection in the league. If Murphy gets on one of his patented heaters, watch out. The Saltdogs were down 10-3 at one time before scoring five in the seventh inning, but could not inch any closer.

Bears 14 Packers 13

It was a night for the offenses at Impact Field as the Dogs rallied from a 12-6 deficit after five innings to comeback and defeat the DockHounds. The final two runs coming off the pitcher that was traded earlier in the week in Jacob DeLabio. Peter Zimmerman (9), Josh Mears (12), and Jack Blomgren (4) all homered for the DockHounds. Daniel Harris (2), Giovanni DiGiacomo (6), Jacob Maiben (2) and Jaxx Groshans (10) all went deep for the Dogs. Where would the Dogs be without Groshans? A 2-4 night raises his batting average. All without having Chance Sisco in the lineup and Aaron Altherr injured and struggling when healthy.
