American Association Insider: Monday June 15 Takeaways
I wasn't going to do an Insider tonight. With only two games completed and one suspended due to rain, I was going to blow it off. Then I came across some news around 8:30 pm. Sister Rosalind Gefre, the massaging Nun that worked St. Paul Saints games since they started up in 1993 passed away at the age of 96. I have to be honest, I didn't have much personal interaction with Ros, my friend did however and I know the news is hitting him hard tonight. I guess I was always in awe with Ros and when that happens, I tend to shy up and not interact out of respect of their aura. Ros was honored by the Saints in bobble form twice. First with a bobblehands then later on, with a bobblehead of her being presented with the 2016 Billy P. Baseball Person of the Year Award before the American Association All Star Game in St. Paul. Ros was a strong woman, but yet was very humble, very sweet, and just an all around good person. She is a piece of St. Paul Saints history and was known by the many teams that came across her throughout the years at Midway Stadium and later CHS Field. She was 96 years old, R.I.P. Sister Ros.

Sioux Falls 13 Sioux City 3
The Canaries team ERA took a severe bruising in the first two games versus Kansas City over the weekend. They managed to tame the Monarchs bats somewhat in the finale. Instead of that being a springboard for better days, the Sioux City Explorers made the trip up I-29 on Monday morning/afternoon and laid on a beating of their own. Austin Davis was the hitting star with five knocks for the day. The combo of Davis, Henry George and Zac Vooletich combined to go 10-15 with two home runs and seven runs driven in. The Explorers bullpen took a hit as Ben De Taeye was signed by the Texas Rangers organization.
Chicago 5 Gary SouthShore 4
The Dogs got a two run home run from Jaxx Groshans to get them going tonight. But it was a Jacob Maiben solo home run that was the difference as it broke a 4-4 deadlock in the ninth inning to get the Dogs a badly needed divisional win on the road. Four Dogs relievers combined to allow just one run on one hit in the final four innings, as the RailCats only mustered up three hits in the loss. That was key as the Dogs earlier in the day traded Jacob DeLabio who had struggled this season in the closer's role to the RailCats for three pitchers.
Fargo-Moorhead 11 Winnipeg 1
The RedHawks were laying a beating on the Goldeyes when the rains ended the night's proceedings in Fargo. If you're awaiting the results of this game, you're going to have to be patient as the game will not be resumed until September 1. Who knows how many players on each team will still be around when the game is picked up.
