American Association Insider: Friday June 5
Milwaukee 4 Fargo-Moorhead 3
The road woes continue for the RedHawks as they have dropped all four on their current road trip. Down 4-0 the RedHawks crept back in the game but just fell a run short. Juan Diaz posted the win for the Milkmen allowing just one run in six innings of work. The Milkmen economized their hits as they only had three, getting outhit by the RedHawks 6-3.
Lake Country 5 Chicago 4
It's now 11 wins in a row for the DockHounds but the Dogs made them earn it tonight. The Dogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Trailing in the ninth, the Dogs scored a run and had the bases loaded with two outs but could not push across the tying run. Peter Zimmerman and Joshua Mears both had solo home runs for the DockHounds. Tyreque Reed had his second consecutive three hit game for the Dogs.
Gary SouthShore 11 Kansas City 3
Maybe the RailCats truly are for real. They went to Legends Field and did something few have done this season, win a game at Legends Field going away. Korry Howell, Camryn Williams and Kevin Watson Jr. all took a liking to the dimensions of Legends Field all hitting home runs in the winning cause. Matt Reitz got his first of the season allowing a pair of runs in six innings of work.
Sioux City 10 Winnipeg 5
Sometimes those long bus drives can do amazing things to galvanize teams. The Explorers after being swept at home by Gary SouthShore, made a statement on Friday. Five runs in the third and three more in the fourth got the job done for the X's. Zac Vooletich was the catalyst with a 3-5 night with four runs batted in on the strength of two run scoring doubles. If this team is going to find its footing, it will need to follow the examples of the returnees such as Vooletich and Henry George. Zach Willeman righted his ship allowing a run in six innings to get the win after some rocky starts as of late. T.J. Schofield-Sam in spite of a .105 batting average, has eight runs batted in the last two games in spite of collecting only two hits total in those games.
Kane County 7 Cleburne 3
This one was tied at three going into the seventh, but the Cougars scored four times in the last three innings to take their third in a row in Cleburne. The Cougars bullpen was once again superb pitching four innings, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out five holding the Roaders at bay. The Cougars are a Lake Country away from being the class of the East Division. What a showdown that will be somewhere down the road.

Sioux Falls 7 Lincoln 5 (suspended after four innings)
What a mess it would've been if Nebraska was hosting a super regional at Haymarket Park this weekend. Throw all the games that needed to be played on top of a suspended game, there may have been some 8 am starts just to get all the games in. This one will be picked up tomorrow, with the second game as usual following the first.
