American Association Insider: August 26 recaps and Post Season All Stars
Call it laziness, burn out, whatever you want. I could have done a Sunday Insider where I name my post season All Star team and regurgitate a bunch of stats that would make for fly by reading. I opt for this instead. Sweet and simple. Keep in mind my votes count as much in the league balloting as a parking attendant at Franklin Field.

Tuesday night recaps:
Gary SouthShore Railcats 2 Kane County 1
Kane County still has a playoff spot to clinch. It should not be a problem, but they are just kind of there in the East. Likely to miss the playoffs, not likely to catch Chicago for second place. Losing at home to the RailCats today did not help. L.J. Castillo had a two run double in the second and it held up as Peyton Long picked up win #7 allowing a run in 7.2 innings of work.
Milwaukee 3 Kansas City 2
The Monarchs led 2-0 before the Milkmen scored three in the eighth. Andy Blake hit a two run home run to tie the game and Delvin Perez homered later in the eighth to give the Milkmen the lead. Brantley Bell collected three hits and a run batted in his home debut as a Monarch. It was a huge win on the road as the Milkmen are hot on the heels of the Railroaders for the last playoff spot in the East.
Lake Country 2 Chicago 0
The DockHounds broke their nine game losing streak at the most opportune time as their pursuers pay a visit to Kamp Oconomowoc. The only scoring of the game came on a Luke Roskam double in the fourth and on an extremely poorly scored double by Brian Rey that clanged off the glove of T.J. Hopkins in the eighth inning. Connor Fenlong picked up his second win pitching scoreless baseball into the seventh inning.
Lincoln 7 Cleburne 4 (Game 1)
It was a game Mike Shawaryn would like to forget as the Saltdogs knocked him out in the second inning recording no outs and allowing six runs that did in the Railroaders. Raul Espinosa had a two run home run and a double for the Saltdogs. Jesus Lujano had three hits for the Roaders.
Cleburne 3 Lincoln 1 (Game 2)
Blair Henley came into his start in Game 2 with a 1-10 record, but he came up big when needed with five shutout innings to give the Railroaders a badly needed win to stay in front of Milwaukee. Joshua Rodriguez in his first game for the Railroaders drove in two of the three runs.
Winnipeg 7 Fargo-Moorhead 3
You couldn't blame the Goldeyes if their heart wasn't really into playing this last week of the season. But it didn't show on Tuesday as the Goldeyes took down the RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field. The Goldeyes led 7-1 before the RedHawks picked up two runs late. Ray-Patrick Didder collected three hits and Landen Bourassa got his sixth win of the season allowing a run in five innings.
Sioux City 16 Sioux Falls 5
If this was Pee Wee baseball at the oft flooded TeePee Tonka Park in Faribault, the Canaries would've been heading up I-29 with a 3-2 win. But, the sixth inning happened happened, and eight runs later including a grand slam by Abdiel Layer accelerated the Explorers past the Canaries at Lewis and Clark Park. In all it was 13 runs in three innings of work from the Canaries middle relief. Layer added another home run later in the game to finish with a five RBI night. Henry George, D'Shawn Knowles and Josh Day all collected three hits for the Explorers.
