American Association Insider: August 24, 2025

This will be a tough blog to write because for the most part I will be relying on Pointstreak to tell me what to write, and we know how dangerous that can be. Six pack of gamers on a Sunday, let's do this.

Kane County 2 Lake Country 1

A few questions coming out of this one. With nine losses in a row, can the DockHounds hold off the surging Chicago Dogs and more importantly, can they find their game with only seven left to play. Also, where did the Cougars go for ice cream after the road sweep. Considering where they are, my bet is on Culver's. The Cougars led 2-0 after two, highlighted by a Trendon Craig home run. It stayed that way till the ninth when the DockHounds scored their only run of the game, but could not scrape up a tying run. Chris Mazza went 7.1 shutout innings, his high water mark for the season. Mazza only allowed four hits and picked up his fourth win.

Winnipeg 9 Lincoln 0

After five scoreless innings, the Goldeyes pounced on the Lincoln bullpen for nine runs in the sixth against the Dogs bullpen and it was all the Goldeyes needed in a shutout victory at Blue Cross Field. Max Murphy had a two run home run and Luke Boyd picked up win #5 throwing seven shutout innings.

Milwaukee 9 Gary SouthShore 6

For a team with little room for error, today's loss in Gary in which Chase Gearing allowed nine runs, six earned in two innings was a crushing blow. The Milkmen plugged away at the lead but could not make it all the way back. Scott Ota homered twice for the Milkmen and Elvis Peralta had three hits and scored two runs for the RailCats.

Chicago 9 Fargo-Moorhead 6

After Dillon Thomas put the RedHawks ahead with a two run home run in the top of the first, Chance Sisco answered for the Dogs with a three run home run in the bottom of the frame. The Dogs would never trail from there in their last home game of the season. Sisco homered twice and now has 17 for the season. After all the romancing over Erik Ostberg this season, Sisco should be getting consideration for  a post season All Star selection. Dusty Stroup also homered for the Dogs with Michael Hallquist homering for the RedHawks.

Sioux Falls 8 Sioux City 6

Mike Hart had himself a day at Lewis and Clark Park, hitting a three run home run and a two run double in the 10th to lead the Canaries to victrory. Jordan Barth homered for the Canaries while Henry George struck for the Explorers. George and Josh Day had three hit days for the Explorers. The Canaries bullpen combined for seven innings of one unearned run ball.

Kansas City 8 Cleburne 4

In the final home regular season game at La Moderna Field, it looked good for the home squad as Aaron Altherr put the Roaders ahead 2-0 in the first inning. But it was the sixth inning that was the undoing against the Monarchs as the road team put up five runs and cruised to victory. Kyle Martin had three hits for the Railroaders, while Brantley Bell in his first game as a Monarch and Ross Adolph also turned the trick. Blake Goldsberry went five innings to pick up his seventh win and his fourth in last four starts.
