American Association Insider: August 14, 2025

First of all, a head's up, there will not be recaps for tomorrow night as I will be attending a concert and will not be home till late at night and will have to turn it around to work the paying job on Saturday morning. Pray for me.

Kansas City 2 Milwaukee 0

You know you're living right when you only muster up three hits and find a way to win a game. The Monarchs two runs were scored on a passed ball and a sacrifice fly. Ashton Goudeau earned his third win and first since June 3rd throwing six shutout innings allowing three hits. Jhordany Mezquita was the hard luck loser allowing the two runs one three hits in seven innings.

Winnipeg 7 Cleburne 6

The Goldeyes held off a ninth inning rally to take the rubber game of their series against the Railroaders. The Goldeyes put up six runs in the second inning and never looked back, highlighted by a solo home run by Rob Emery and a three run shot by Max Murphy. Ray-Patrick Didder also homered for the Goldeyes while Shed Long and Dustin Peterson both homered for the Railroaders. Luke Boyd had a quality start, three runs in six innings to get his fourth win.

Lake Country 6 Kane County 4

With Milwaukee's loss and a win at Northwestern Medicine Field, the DockHounds clinched a playoff spot. The DockHounds led 5-1 after four innings and never relinquished the lead. Chavez Young homered and scored three times for the DockHounds and Kelvan Pilot earned his sixth win going five innings allowing three runs.

Chicago 6 Gary SouthShore 0

The Dogs took a three run lead in the top of the first and it was all they needed to defeat the RailCats at U.S. Steelyard. Chance Sisco and Jacob Maiben both had three hits for the Dogs and six of the nine regulars had runs batted in. Jack Nedrow allowed three hits in six shutout innings and three relievers combined to not allow a hit the rest of the way.

Fargo-Moorhead 8 Sioux City 3

In the only game in the six game home and home set that wasn't a nailbiter, the RedHawks managed to salvage a game in the series and a split in the six game home and home series. Juan Fernandez homered and drove in three for the RedHawks. Jake Dykhoff earned his ninth win going seven innings, allowing three runs. The game was decided in the middle innings with the RedHawks scoring three in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Sioux Falls 13 Lincoln 11 (10 innings)

In a game that caused a complete rewrite of the recap, the Canaries used small ball to plate two runs in the tenth and held on to win as Drew DeVine was about five feet away from a game tying home run. The Canaries jumped out to a 4-0 only to see the Saltdogs take the lead 6-4. The Canaries scored seven in the seventh and seemed to be in control only to see the Saltdogs score five in the ninth to tie the game. Calvin Estrada led the way for the Canaries with four runs batted in including a three run home run. Jordan Barth homered in the seventh, a three run shot. Matt Bottcher also drove in three runs for the Canaries. Brody Fahr drove in seven runs for the Saltdogs including a three run double that tied the game in the ninth inning.
