American Associaition Insider: August 17, 2025

Full slate of games around the league on Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to Sioux Falls manager Mike Meyer who is now the leader in Sioux Falls Canaries managerial history with win #379. And congratulations to Austin Davis of Sioux City who swiped his 50th base of the season breaking Daniel Lingua's record from last season.

Kane County 8 Kansas CIty 1

The Cougars restored their Northwestern Medicine Field dominance over the Monarchs with a series winning victory behind seven shutout innings from Konnor Ash who picked up his ninth win. The Cougars led this all the way scoring five runs in the first three innings. Armand Upshaw led the attack for the Cougars with three runs batted in.

Milwaukee 7 Lake Country 1

Who had a Milkmen sweep of the DockHounds on their parlay card this weekend? Two runs in the fifth through seventh innings broke a one all deadlock. Walks haunted the DockHounds as the Milkmen received nine free passes. Juan Diaz picked up the win for the Milkmen going 5.2 innings allowing one run, it was the fifth win for Diaz.

Sioux Falls 7 Lincoln 6

The Canaries were down to their last out, but two players featured in the Sunday Insider rallied the Canaries to a tie game. Jordan Barth doubled and scored on Josh Rehwaldt's two out double. The Canaries were able to push the automatic runner home in the 10th and Will Levine shut down the Saltdogs to pick up the save. Rehwaldt paced the Canaries with three hits and Barth homered. Raul Espinosa had two doubles and drove in four runs for the Saltdogs.

Cleburne 6 Fargo-Moorhead 5

It didn't come easy as the RedHawks left the bases loaded in the last of the ninth, but the Railroaders were able to get out of Newman Outdoor Field with a win in the series finale. The RedHawks rallied from two runs down to take a 3-2 lead in the sixth but the Railroaders scored three in the seventh and added a single run in the ninth that proved to be the difference.

Chicago 13 Gary SouthShore 2

The Dogs were going to make sure the RailCats didn't leave Impact Field with a series sweep as they jumped out to a 6-1 lead and tacked on seven runs in the eighth inning for the win. Tripp Clark made an impact right away on his fourth team in the American Association this season going 3-5. Johnni Turbo went 3-5 with a home run and three runs batted in and Chance Sisco drove in three to pace the Dogs. Jacob Teter and T.J. Hopkins also homered for the Dogs. Xavier Valentin homered for the RailCats.

Sioux City 9 Winnipeg 3

The Explorers scored four in the first inning, and Austin Drury took it from there, throwing seven innings of two run ball for his ninth win. Austin Davis and Josh Day both collected three hits to lead the Explorers offense. Along with a five game lead over second place Kansas City, the Explorers also expanded their lead over Lake Country by 5.5 games for the top record in the American Association. Very important IF both clubs were to advance to the Miles Wolff Cup Finals.
