American Association Insider: July 9,2025

Sorry for the late recaps, I was at a Townball game in Wisconsin. My fourth game in a week in four different states.

Kane County 11 Lake Country 7

After being beaten in a rain shortened game on Tuesday night, the Cougars got even scoring 11 runs at home to defeat the DockHounds. Trendon Craig, Claudio Finol and Zane Spinn all had three hits for the Cougars while Todd Lott homered. Down 6-5 in the seventh, the Cougars scored four times with the big hit being a Robby Martin Jr. two run single. Spinn followed with a two run single of his own.

Chicago 7 Milwaukee 6 (10 innings)

A passed ball in the last of the tenth inning allowed Dusty Stroup to score the winning run as the Dogs once again defeated the Milkmen. Henry Kusiak homered for the Dogs while Jacob Maiben led the Dogs with three hits. Micker Adolfo and Joe Gray both homered for the Milkmen in the losing effort.

Cleburne 7 Lincoln 3

Cleburne breaks open a 3-3 ball game with four runs in the eighth inning highlighted by an Andres Sosa three run home run to win on Wednesday night at La Moderna Field. Sosa went 2-4 with three runs batted in. All Star Derek Craft pitched well in a no decision going seven innings allowing three runs. Saltdogs Spencer Henson is making up for lost time hitting two home runs tonight and now has seven for the season. Sosa is 9-16 with three home runs and 12 RBI in his last four games.

Winnipeg 7 Sioux Falls 6 (10 Innings)

The Canaries rallied from three behind in the eighth inning highlighted by a Calvin Estrada two run home run, but the Goldeyes got the last laugh as All Star selection Max Murphy drives home the winning run in the last of the tenth. Tanner O'Tremba homered twice for the Goldeyes while Mike Hart also homered for the Canaries.

Gary SouthShore 4 Fargo-Moorhead 1

Andres Diaz had his best performance of the season in picking up his third win at U.S. Steel Yard. Diaz allowing two hits and struck out 10 RedHawks. In a statistical oddity, every RailCat batter had exactly one hit, with Andres Noriega's hit being a home run. Orlando Rodriguez had his longest outing of the season going seven innings allowing three earned runs.

Kansas City 6 Sioux City 4

The Monarchs took advantage of Sioux City late inning miscues to win at Legends Field on Wednesday night. With the score tied at four the Monarchs scored an unearned run in the seventh and eighth. Ross Adolph continues his mastery of the Explorers going 3-4.
