American Association Insider: July 11, 2025

Six full games and a continuation of one from Winnipeg highlight the American Association schedule on Friday night. I was at a concert tonight, so I'm winging this big time from Pointstreak.

Kansas City 1 Winnipeg 0

The Monarchs came out victorious in the continuation of a game from last month, 5-3 then needed just one run coming from an Alex McGarry in the second inning to win the second game at Blue Cross Park. Josh Hendrickson continues the master of the Goldeyes throwing six shutout innings to get his seventh win. Hendrickson has two starts versus the Goldeyes and has not allowed a run in 12 innings. Mitchell Lambson was the hard luck loser going the distance and allowing the one run. In his last two starts, Lambson has allowed two runs in 17 innings and has a loss and no decision to show for it.

Gary SouthShore 4 Lake Country 1

The Railcats once again get excellent pitching from Spencer Adams, this time he's rewarded as he allowed a run in six innings, following an eight inning shutout performance in Sioux City last week. The difference in the game was a four run seventh inning for the RailCats. Luke Hansel threw six shutout innings for the DockHounds in a no decision.

Sioux City 7 Cleburne 6

The Explorers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning and held on for a victory at La Moderna Field. Austin Davis led the offensive charge for the Explorers with three hits. Every Explorer batter had at least one hit in the 13 hit attack. Shed Long went 3-5 and Aaron Altherr hit a three run home run in the fifth to jumpstart the Railroaders offense. Felix Cepeda allowed a run but earned his 16th save and his third of the week.

Chicago 11 Lincoln 6

Down 6-5 heading into the eighth inning, the Dogs scored three runs in the eighth and ninth inning to pull away from the Saltdogs at Haymarket Park. Jacob Maiben homered and drove in four runs. Jacob Teter hit a three run home run in the ninth inning. Danny Bautista Jr. collected three hits to lead the Saltdogs. Three Dogs relievers combined to shut down the Saltdogs in the last five innings.

Fargo-Moorhead 9 Sioux Falls 3

It may have taken the RedHawks a while to wake up after a long bus drive home from Gary yesterday, but they woke up in the fifth inning scoring seven runs in the last four innings to defeat Sioux Falls. Jose Sermo had a solo home run while Derek Maiben and Alec Olund each collected three hits for the RedHawks. Josh Rehwaldt collected three more hits for the Canaries to raise his batting average to .371. A welcome back to Michael Hallquist who collected a hit in his only at bat in his first game since May 29th.

Kane County 11 Milwaukee 0 (six innings)

They only got six innings in at Franklin Field tonight, but it was more than enough for the Cougars who put up 11 runs and 12 hits. Marcus Chiu homered once again for the Cougars and drove in three runs collecting three hits. Eight of the nine Cougars collected hits. Vin Timpanelli threw six shutout innings allowing only two hits to get the win.
