American Association Insider: July 10, 2025 and up to date Power Rankings
Two day games, two night games and two games suspended (Milwaukee vs. Chicago, Lake Country vs. Kane County) in the American Associaiton on Thursday.
Sioux City 7 Kansas City 5
The Explorers got off to a 7-2 and held on to take the series from the Monarchs at Legends Field. Zach Vooletich and Josh Day each collected three hits and drove in two runs in the winning effort. Angel Macuare picked up his first win for Sioux City going five innings in his second start of the season. Ross Adolph and Alex McGarry homered for the Monarchs.
Gary SouthShore 2 Fargo-Moorhead 1 (10 innings)
Elvis Peralta drove in the run from second base as the RailCats picked up a series win versus the RedHawks at U.S. Steel Yard. There needs to be some official name for the runner that begins extra innings on second base. I've heard phanton rummer, zombie runner, fantasy runner. I thought it should be named after a legendary player from the past. So I'll say this, Colin Willis scored from second on an Elvis Peralta single. Peyton Long followed his shutout against Kansas City last week with seven more shutout innings in a no decision. Jake Dykhoff allowed an unearned run extended his streak to 21.1 innings without giving up an earned run. Brendon Dadson collected three of the RedHawks nine hits and drove in the Hawks only run.
Sioux Falls 12 Winnipeg 7
In a game that the Canaries were winning going away after five innings, 6-0, the Goldeyes put a scare into Sioux Falls before succumbing to the Birds 12-7 at Blue Cross Park. A name you don't associate with the big sluggers in the Sioux Falls lineup, Matt Ruiz had a six RBI game. Ruiz went 3-5 with a home run and a walk to go with those six RBI. All Stars Scott Combs and Jordan Barth each had three hit games with Barth hitting his 10th home run. Max Murphy had a three run home run and Gustavo Sosa went 3-4 with two doubles for the Goldeyes.
Cleburne 14 Lincoln 11
Obviously, a slugfest in Cleburne tonight where the Railroaders put up three runs in the seventh inning after the Saltdogs had tied the game at 11, and that was enough for the win. Steven Rivas made a strong claim for Last Man in for the All Star Game homering three times and driving in four runs on a 3-4 night at the plate. Jesus Lujano is proving to be a big under the radar pick up for the Roaders, going 4-6 and raising his batting average to .360. Dustin Peterson went 3-5 with a home run and three runs batted in to help the Railroaders win. Neyfy Castillo is the most dangerous .248 hitter, going 3-5 with a home run and four RBI for the Saltdogs. Drew DeVine went 3-4 with three runs batted in and Kyle Battle homered for the Saltdogs.
