Kansas City 2 Winnipeg 1 (suspended)

This game was suspended in the second inning and will be resumed the next time the teams meet up in Winnipeg.

Fargo-Moorhead 8 Lincoln 3

After spotting the Saltdogs a 1-0 lead in the first inning, it was all RedHawks as they ended the Saltdogs four game winning streak. The Hawks will have a chance to split the four game series on Monday night. A game in which I'll be on hand. Lamar Sparks homered in his first game as a RedHawks and Peter Brookshaw hit his third of the season. Juan Fernadez had three hits and scored twice, bumping his batting average to .345. Kyle Crigger allowed one run in 6.2 innings to pick up his fourth win.

Milwaukee 6 Gary SouthShore 2

The Milkmen jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back as they won the rubber game of the three game set at the Milk Cooler in front of 1155. Jhordanny Mezquita won his fourth game pitching five innings of two run ball. Erik Ostberg homered, his seventh of the season, and drove in two runs to pace the attack for the Milkmen.

Sioux City 7 Lake Country 1

It was well well well how the turn tables for the Explorers once again as a five run fifth inning led the Explorers to a series win over the Flying Monkeys. Veteran Nick Shumpert, off to a slow start, homered and drove in a pair for the Explorers. Zach Willeman threw eight innings of one run ball to give the Explorers bullpen a day off for the most part, getting his second win in his last three starts. 1210 came out to the Monkey cage to see the game.

Chicago 17 Dallas 7

Walter Payton rushed for 148 yards with two touchdowns. Bob Thomas connected on a 30 yard field goal as the Bears beat the Cowboys at Irving Stadium. Actually is was the Dogs over the Railroaders to go home with a 2-4 record for the six game set. T.J. Hopkins hit a two run homer to top a four run third for the Dogs. Andy Nelson and Kyle Schmack both went deep for the Dogs, while Jacob Teter went 3-4 with three runs batted in and four runs scored. The game spun out of control because of a nine run inning for the Dogs in the ninth. 1010, most of which I'm guessing went home during the ninth, were on hand at La Moderna Field.

Kane County 9 Sioux Falls 8

In the game I was at today, it was a Birdcage kind of day as ball flew out of the park early and late in the game with the Cougars salvaging the last game of the series and now head home with a 3-3 road trip and nine in a row coming up at home. A back and forth game that saw Sioux Falls lead in the eighth inning, turned in the favor of the Cougars. Tripp Clark hit  a two run home run to tie the game at six. In the ninth, an error proved costly as Armond Upshaw cashed it in with a two run home run to dead center. The fourth hit to centerfield where there seemed to be a jet stream. The Canaries scored two runs in the ninth to get within a run but could not get closer. Clark, Upshaw and Marcus Chiu homered for the Cougars while Jabari Henry struck twice to add to his record. Peter Zimmerman and Jordan Barth hit back to back home runs in the second inning. 1292 saw it at a very windy Birdcage.

I will not have a recap tomorrow as I'll be at the only game of the night in Lincoln.
