After seeing a well pitched 4-2 win by the Lincoln Saltdogs against Fargo-Moorhead to take the wraparound series 3-1. But as they say, success is fleeting and the Saltdogs hosted the Milwaukee Milkmen in an 11 am game to begin their three game series.

Milwaukee 17 Lincoln 8

The Badgers offensive attach found the end zone twice and added a field goal. The Cornhuskers could only find the end zone once converting on a two point conversion. There's a lot to unpack from this one. After getting shutdown by Greg Loukinen in Milwaukee last week, the Milkmen were all over him, scoring a total of nine runs in his two innings of work. FOUR Milkmen had four hits apiece to pace their 24 hit attack, led by Erik Ostberg going 4-6 with two doubles and five runs batted in. Lincoln tried to stay in the game paced by a 3-5 day by Danny Bautista Jr. But with the score 12-7 after five excruciatingly long innings, the Milkmen pulled away with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. An announced crowd seeking shade where they could find it of 3533 saw the three hour, 37 minute marathon.

Winnipeg 8 Chicago 3

Balls were flying out of Impact Field tonight. Winnipeg went deep five times, led by a pair by Matthew Warkentin who went 3-5 with three runs batted in. The Dogs countered with two of their own. Jesse Galindo was the recipient of the support throwing six innings of three run ball to get his second win of the season. 3013 saw it in Rosemont.

Kane County 10 Cleburne 8

Kane County is known for their promotions. Apparently tonight was snowman night as the Cougars put up an eight spot in the fifth en route to a 10 -8 win over the Railroaders. The Roaders were boosted by the return of Jose Sermo but he was shut down going 0-4. The only home run for the Cougars tonight was a three run blow in that eight run fifth. Chris Mazza got the win going six innings allowing three runs. 2173 were on hand to welcome the Cougars back for a lengthy home stand.

Fargo-Moorhead 8 Kansas City 3

The RedHawks bounced back from a tough weekend to defeat the Monarchs at Legends Field. Juan Fernandez knocked in three runs on a 2-5 night. Peter Brookshaw homered and drove in two runs. Greg Minier got the win allowing three runs in 5.1 innings to the Monarchs juggernaut. The Hawks bullpen threw 3.2 innings of one hit ball in support of Minier. 1420 came out to see the first place Monarchs.

Sioux Falls 6 Gary SouthShore 5

TheAmerican  Association Home Run King Jabari Henry added two more home runs to his record as the Canaries held on to defeat the RailCats in front of 1830 at US Steel Yard.
