American Association Insider- June 1, 2025

 June opened with a full six game Sunday slate highlighted by a shared no hitter and a walkoff win to end the day.

Fargo Moorhead 3 Milwaukee 1

The RedHawks got on the board in the third on an Aiden Byrne single. Milwaukee answered with an Erik Ostberg solo home run. That was all the scoring in the first nine innings. Tyler Jandron was excellent once again for the RedHawks allowing a single run in seven, but was left with a no decision. Two runs scored for the RedHawks in the top of the 10th and Alex DuBord notched his 11th save with a perfect 10th inning. A crowd of 1328 was on hand to see it at the Milk Cooler. 

Kane County 9 Lincoln 0

The Cougars left no doubt in this one, scoring eight times in the first three innings. From there it was time for history as three Cougars combined for a no hitter. Josh Allen went 2-2 with a two run double in the first and a  three run home run in the second. Vin Timpanelli in a spot start pitched seven innings, besting his Cougars best by three innings, Tommy Sommer and Jake Gozzo finished off the no no, the first one in the league this season. 2564 saw it at Northwestern Medicine Field.

Winnipeg 4 Lake Country 3

The Goldeyes had a three run fourth inning to overcome a 2-0 deficit, then scored one in the ninth on a Tanner O'Tremba single. Max Murphy continues his hot start to the season with two more hits today to bump his batting average to .341. 1920 campers at Kamp Oconomowoc on Sunday afternoon saw it.

Kansas City 8 Sioux Falls 6

Not even ace pitcher Tanner Brown could slow down the Monarchs offense as they scored two runs in each of the first three innings, eventually chasing Brown in fifth with seven runs on his ledger. Isiah Gilliam and Ryan Leitch had two run homers in those decisive innings. Gilliam ended up with four runs driven in for the day. Jabari Henry had three hits for the Canaries. His third hit got the Canaries to within two runs, but they could not get any closer. An announced crowd of 1595 was on hands at Legends Field to see the Monarchs complete the weekend sweep.

Chicago 12 Gary SouthShore 3

The Dogs offense took till the fifth inning to get going but when they did, it was in a big way. Four runs in the fifth were followed by six in the eighth as the Dogs took the rubber game of the weekend set in front of 3394 on Dog Day ironically at US Steel Yard. TJ Hopkins led the Dogs attack with four runs driven in while going 2-4. Connor Curliss got the win allowing a pair of earned runs in six innings of work for win #3 of the season.

Sioux City 8 Cleburne 7

The Explorers put up fence posts in the first four innings to gradually build up a 4-1 lead. But the wheels came off in the seventh as the Railroaders scored five, highlighted by an opposite field two run single by June Hitter of the Month Kyle Martin. In the eighth Josh Day tripled in a run and later scored to cut the deficit to one run. In the ninth though, the Explorers threatened but after Zach Vooletich was thrown out at the plate trying to score the tying run, there were runners on second and third. Day came up again, gapped a double and it was the fourth walk off victory at Lewis and Clark Park. An elated 1387 saw it at Lewis and Clark Park.
