American Association Baseball Insider: June 25, 2025
We've had more exciting nights of American Association Baseball. One game was completed this afternoon, four relatively non competitive games were played and the other, Sioux City hosting Winnipeg was rained out.
Kane County Cougars 9 Gary SouthShore 6
Last year in what was also a disastrous season for the RailCats, they were a pain in the butt to the Cougars. This has not been the case this season as the Cougars have now taken four of five from the RailCats in 2025. The Cougars took a 7-0 lead in the fourth inning and that was more than enough to take down the RailCats at US Steel Yard. Marcus Chiu drove in three runs and Claudio Finol in a quest to find his 2024 form went 3-5 with two runs batted in. Westin Muir in a rare bullpen appearance got the win going 2.2 scoreless innings.
Lake Country 10 Cleburne 6
All the scoring in this one was in the first five innings. Lake Country scored five in the fifth to pull away. Brian Rey drove in three runs. Imanol Vargas in his first game with the DockHounds hit a two run home run. The DockHounds bullpen combined for 4.2 innings of one hit ball for the DockHounds as the Railroaders have now dropped five games in a row at La Moderna Field.
Lincoln 12 Kansas City 1
The good news for the Monarchs is that Josh Hendrickson will not pitch another game at Haymarket Park this season. In two starts, Hendrickson has given up 15 runs in 9.1 innings. The rest of the season Hendrickson has given up six earned runs in six starts over 33 innings. Neyfy Castillo, Yusniel Diaz, Clint Coulter and Rolando Espinosa all homered for the victorious Saltdogs. Diaz and Max Hewitt each had three hits. Dylan Castaneda was the recipient of the run support allowing two runs in six innings to get his first win of the season.
Fargo-Moorhead 6 Milwuakee 1
The RedHawks scored six runs in their last three frames to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat the Milkmen at Newman Outdoor Field. Lamar Sparks drove in three runs and Derek Maiben had three hits and added an RBI for the RedHawks. Kolby Kiser got his second win with a one run in six inning effort.
Sioux Falls 8 Chicago 1
The Canaries took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back defeating the Dogs at Impact Field. Calvin Estrada extended his hitting streak to 21 games with his sixth three hit game during the streak, hitting two doubles and hitting his ninth home run. Jordan Barth added his eighth home run. Tanner Brown pitched five innings allowing one run to pick up his third win.
