If you had the day off on Wednesday, you could've been entertained from 11:30 in the morning till 10:30 at night.
Winnipeg 3 Kane County 2 (Game 1)
Both teams exchanged two runs innings in the fourth inning. The difference in the game was a two base error as Todd Lott missed a Galli Cribbs Jr. throw in the seventh allowing Andy Armstrong to reach second base in the top of the seventh. Armstrong would score on a Ramon Bramasco single with two outs to plate the winning run.
Kane County 8 Winnipeg 5 (Game 2)
The Cougars rallied with seven unanswered runs after being down 3-0 and never looked back to gain a split of the doubleheader. Don't look now but Andy Armstrong, known as having an OK bat but great glove, is now hitting .354 after a 2-2 day at the plate in Game two. His slick fielding shortstop counterpart Galli Cribbs Jr. did even better with a 3-3 day. 5333 saw the doubleheader at Northwestern Medicine Field.
Chicago 8 Milwaukee 3
In another matinee tilt, the Dogs broke a 3-3 deadlock with five runs in the final three innings to pull away from the Milkmen to guarantee a series win in front of 5841 at Impact Field. Henry Kusiak homered for the first time in 2025 and drove in three runs as part of a three hit day to pace the Dogs attack.
Sioux Falls 6 Cleburne 4
After the Railroaders got off to a 2-0 lead, a three run home run by Calvin Estrada put the Canaries in the lead in the third. The Canaries scored three more in the fifth and carried it to a 6-4 win and second in a row over the Roaders. Thomas Dorminy got his third win in as many starts with a quality start, three runs in six innings. 974 saw it at the Birdcage, anxiously awaiting the record breaking home run from Jabari Henry.
Sioux City 11 Kansas City 8
In what most fans were expecting to be a pitcher's duel, became a night for the offenses. The X's and Monarchs combined for 29 hits and five home runs (four that were actually home runs, one which should've been a double). The Monarchs led 5-2 at one time, but a five run sixth put the Explorers in front. The Monarchs did have the tying runner to bat in the eighth but Felix Cepeda retired Jaylyn Williams to end the inning. 941 saw it at Legends Field.
Fargo Moorhead 2 Gary SouthShore 0
Robert Perez Jr. and Marcus Chiu drove in runs and Kyle Crigger allowed one hit in 6.2 innings as Fargo Moorhead defeated Gary SouthShore in front of 1351 at US Steelyard. Alex DuBord threw a scoreless ninth to earn his ninth save of the young season. The RedHawks have now won four games in a row on the road.
Lincoln 6 Lake Country 1
Yusniel Diaz and Kyle Battle both hit two run home runs as the Saltdogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead and won easily in front of 2581 at Haymarket Park. Johnny Ray got his first win of the season as he allowed one unearned run in 5.2 innings of work. Ray lowered his ERA to 0.91
