Five games in four cities on the last Tuesday night in May.
Lake Country 9 Lincoln 7 (Game 1)
Things looked early for the Saltdogs. Seven runs in the first two innings staked the Saltdogs to a four run lead. Highlighting those seven runs was a three run Spencer Henson home run. But the DockHounds chipped away and eventually took the lead in the seventh inning. The sixth inning was the only inning that the DockHounds did not score. Demitrius Sims had a two run home run in the second inning, Brian Rey hit a solo shot in the third. Daunte Stuarts solo home run in the fifth tied the game. Rey would later drive in the decisive runs with a two run single in the seventh.
Lincoln 1 Lake Country 0 (Game 2)
The Saltdogs gained a split of the doubleheader, Nate Blain hurling the five hit shutout in spite of only striking out one batter. The only offense of the game came off the bat of Griffin Everitt, a solo home run in the fifth inning. 2559 were on hand to see it at Haymarket Park.
Chicago 12 Milwaukee 3
The Dogs mauled the Milkmen at Impact Field in front of 1967 at Impact Field. It was the fifth and sixth that did all the damage as the Dogs scored five in the fifth and six in the sixth. Dusty Stroup hit a three run home run in the fifth and followed it up with a run scoring triple in the sixth. The run support was more than enough for Connor Curlis who allowed an earned run in six innings of work to pick up the win, his second of the season.
Kansas City 3 Sioux City 0
The Explorers offensive woes continued at Legends Field in front of 773 fans as a three run seventh inning was the difference. Both starters were brilliant as Austin Drury pitched six innings of shutout ball for Sioux City and Kansas City's Josh Hendrickson matched Drury with six shutout innings of his own. Ninth hitter Ryan Leitch got the Monarchs on the board with a solo home run to begin the decisive seventh inning.
Sioux Falls 5 Cleburne 4
In the game of the night, the Canaries got a walk off sacrifice fly from Mike Hart to defeat the Railroaders and give Tanner Hoops a victory in his 300th game behind the mike for the Canaries. After spotting the Roaders a two spot in the first, a Peter Zimmerman three run home run got the lead for the Canaries. The clubs would trade blows with the score being knotted at four before the Canaries took home the win. No Pointstreak boxscore was available, sorry for the basic summary.
