Watch the game change, watch the game change, watch the game change. The overplayed American Association commercials are already producing ear worms. It was Saturday night baseball throughout the Association with five games and a double header played in cool but dry weather in the Upper Midwest.

Chicago 8 Lincoln 1

The Dogs rode a three run fifth inning and a four run seventh inning to a decisive 8-1 victory in front of 3991 at Impact Field on Saturday night. Three run home runs from Dusty Stroup and Alex McGarry did the bulk of the damage. Brady Miller threw seven shutout innings for the Dogs to earn the win.

Sioux Falls 3 Milwaukee 2

The Milkmen threatended to walk off the Canaries, loading the bases in spite of just one ball leaving the infield. But Brady Stover struck out Carlos Amaya, and got Andy Blake to ground out to save the game. Peter Zimmerman and Ernny Ordonez homered for the Canaries. 1426 were on hand at the Shrine to Bovine.

Winnipeg 3 Gary SouthShore 2

Single runs in the fourth and fifth gave the Goldeyes the lead and it was enough for Landen Bourassa as the Goldeyes bounced back from last night's loss to defeat the RailCats. Bourassa scattered eight hits in seven innings, allowing two runs to earn the win. 2523 saw it at Blue Cross Field.

Kansas City 3 Lake Country 2

Slugfest, pitcher's duel, it doesn't matter right now to the Kansas City Monarchs. The Monarchs walked off the DockHounds on Saturday night. 2642 saw it at Legends Field. After the DockHounds tied the game on a single by Luke Roskam, the winning run in the last of the ninth came courtesy of a Peyton Holt single. Ross Adolph went 3-4 in the winning effort.

Kane County 9 Cleburne 1

God Bless Texas said the Railroaders jerseys tonight but Cougar fans were saying God Bless Josh Allen. The veteran infielder homered twice and drove in four runs as the Cougars scored seven runs in their last two at bats to pull away from the Roaders. Konnor Ash was brilliant once again for the Cougars allowing a single run and striking out 11 Roaders. 1333 came out on a hot Texas evening to La Moderna Field.

Sioux City 2 Fargo Moorhead 0 (Game 1)

The story of game one was Sioux City lefty Jared Wetherbee. Wetherbee went the distance for the Explorers allowing five hits and striking out eight RedHawks. The difference in the game was two unearned runs in the fifth inning.

Fargo Moorhead 4 Sioux City 1 (Game 2)

The RedHawks gained a split of the doubleheader as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead early and made it stick. The Explorers had a chance in the fifth inning but left the bases loaded as Parker Harm struck out three batters in the inning to get out of the jam. Alex DuBord got his fifth save of the season in six scoreless outings.
