It was a five game set in the American Association. Kansas City at Sioux City was rained out, a doubleheader will be played tomorrow. With the windy conditions throughout the Midwest, it was a wild night of scoring throughout the league.

Milwaukee 11 Kane County 4

It looked promising early for the struggling Cougars as they lead 3-2 after two innings. The visiting Milkmen however put up three in the fifth and seventh innings to take the lead and pull away from the Cougars in front of 4921 at Northwestern Medicine Field. Micker Adolfo went 2-5 with three runs batted in. Scott Ota went 4-5 with 4 runs driven in to pace the Milkmen attack.

Lake Country 4 Fargo Moorhead 3

In an emotional day for the RedHawks and for a lot of us on the media side in the American Association, Lake Country rallied late on a two run home run by Luis Aviles to defeat the RedHawks in front of 1828 at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park. Legendary broadcaster Jack Michaels found out his mother Marge passed away earlier in the day. Anyone who has followed the league knows of Jack's trademark home run call, Track it down, Marge!!. Well, in the first inning, RedHawks Dillon Thomas drilled a home run to left center, rounded the bases, pointed to Jack in the Press Box and then to Marge in the sky. Alec Olund and Eric Meza also kept Marge busy with home runs of their own.

Sioux Falls 22 Chicago 0

Although this was a blowout of massive proportions, you could see this coming. Chicago traveled after a late home game and didn't arrive to Sioux Falls till mid morning. The wind was blowing out at the Birdcage, a nightmare for Dogs pitchers and fielders alike. Jordan Barth tied two American Association records with two grand slams (Thomas Walraven of Gary SouthShore hit two in a game in 2022), and nine runs batted in (tied with three different players). Josh Rehwaldt hit for the cycle with a home run topping it off in the eighth inning, scoring six runs in the process which ties a league record. Jabari Henry homered to get within three of the league career record on a 4-6 night at the plate. Lost in all of it was seven shutout innings by Thomas Dorminy. 841 braved a cold windy night to see the offensive fireworks at the Birdcage.

The Railroaders joined the Canaries in the 20 run club. It was a shootout in the first two innings as the Railroaders led 5-3. But 15 runs in the fourth through the seventh innings put the Railcats away. Aaron Altherr had a pair of three run home runs. Shed Long went 4-6 with a three run home run of his own. In all, there were a total of six home runs for the Railroaders. Mike Shawaryn survived a tough first two innings to settle in and go seven innings allowing three earned runs on six hits. 3110 were on hand for it at U.S. Steel Yard.

Winnipeg 9 Lincoln 7

After the Goldeyes put up three runs in the third inning, the hometown Saltdogs countered with five runs highlighted by a Spencer Henson three run home run. But the Goldeyes were not deterred and scored six runs in the sixth through eighth to come back and spoil the home opener for the Goldeyes. The big blow was a three run home run by Ramon Bramasco in the eighth inning that put the Goldeyes ahead for good. Max Murphy and Matt Warkentin also homered for the victorious Goldeyes in front of 4358 at Haymarket Park.
