It was hump day in the AA as an evenly split slate of six games were matinee and night games.

Lake Country 7 Milwaukee 4

The DockHounds are off to a 4-1 start after their win over the Milkmen at Franklin Field on Tuesday afternoon in front of 3365 fans. The highlight by far was a three home run game by Brian Rey. A .344 hitter last season in 65 games, Rey is off to another hot start now with five home runs and 11 runs batted in. Five scoreless innings by the DockHounds bullpen allowed the Hounds to pull away.

Fargo Moorhead 5 Kane County 4

The Cougars found some offense and held a 4-3 lead at one time this afternoon, but a two run home run by the RedHawks Dillon Thomas put the home club back in the lead, a lead they would not relinquish. A school kid's day special brought out 3983 to Newman Outdoor Field.

Cleburne 5 Gary SouthShore 4

A Shed Long single in the ninth inning put the Railroaders ahead and they would hold on to defeat the RailCats in front of 4874. Cleburne stays ahead of Lake Country with a 5-1 mark for the season. Meanwhile the RailCats have still not made it to the pay window in spite of many close losses in the early season.

Sioux City 3 Chicago 1

Kyle Marman was excellent once again going six innings allowing a run on seven hits, striking out nine Dogs. Marman gets the win because a two run home run by Zach Vooletich. The Explorers flashed speed to add an insurance run as Austin Davis walked, stole second, advanced to third in spite of a grounder hit in front of him. On a throw to first after a strikeout, Davis made a dash to home and scored easily.

Lincoln 12 Sioux Falls 4

Rest easy Homer, the Saltdogs have cracked the win column as a six run fourth and a five run fifth allowed the Saltdogs to pull away from Sioux Falls. The top three batters in the Saltdogs lineup, Danny Bautista Jr., Brody Fahr and Jack Dragum combined to go 6-15 with nine runs batted in. Calvin Estrada and Jabari Henry homered for the Canaries in the losing effort in front of 651 at the Birdcage.

Kansas City 8 Winnipeg 7

The Goldeyes put a scare into the Monarchs with a three run ninth but just fell short as the Monarchs remain undefeated for the season in front of 920 at Legends Field. Isaiah Gillam of the Monarchs stays hot going 3-5 with a home run and three runs batted in, now hitting .526 for the young season. Ninth place hitter for the Monarchs catcher Ryan Leitch went 2-4 with a home run and three runs batted in.

There's already looking to be some separation in both divisions as Kansas City and Fargo Moorhead are off to flying starts while Lincoln and Winnipeg have only won one game as both of those clubs have yet to see a home game.

In the East Cleburne and Lake Country are off to hot starts while defending Miles Wolff Cup champion Kane County has stumbled out of the gates with one win while Gary SouthShore remains the only winless club in the league.
