American Association Insider- May 11, 2025
It was time for me to cover some Townball up here in Minnesota, so I didn't have much time to catch American Association outside of a wild and controversial ending to the game in Kansas City that'll we get to later and tonight's Winnipeg at Cleburne game.
Milwaukee 4 Gary SouthShore 0
The Milkmen are the only undefeated team in the East after sweeping the RailCats on Sunday afternoon in front of 1408 at Franklin Field. Matt Givin was givin' up eight hits in five innings for the Milkmen but did not allow a run. Glenn Santiago homered and Carlos Amaya drove in two runs in the winning effort.
Fargo Moorhead 9 Sioux Falls 5
In the battle of two American Association veterans, it was Greg Minier getting the best of Ryan Zimmerman. It was a tough 2025 debut for Zimmerman as he allowed nine runs, eight earned, not getting out of the third inning. Minier got through five, allowing a pair of runs. On a day the wind was blowing out the crowd of 2005 saw just two home runs by the home team (Juan Fernandez and Eric Meza.
Chicago 6 Lake Country 1
Five runs in the fifth and sixth were the difference as the Dogs were able to salvage the final game of their series with the DockHounds in front of 6047 at Impact Field. Veteran Clint Coulter led the way for the Dogs with three runs batted in going 2-4
Kansas City 4 Lincoln 3
In the game of the day, the Monarchs scored a pair of runs with two out in the 11th inning to sweep the Saltdogs 4-3. A hit by Jorge Bonifacio which was originally ruled a foul ball as the ball landed near the line in the left field corner was overturned resulting in a Monarchs victory. There was no good camera angles on whether the ball landed fair.
Cleburne 6 Winnipeg 5
The Railroaders made a sweep of Winnipeg teams in Texas on Sunday night with a one run victory over the Goldeyes at La Moderna Field. It was clear sailing until the ninth inning for the Railroaders as the Goldeyes scored a pair and had the tying run on second before the Roaders were able to shut the door. Pointstreak has the game tied at five as of press time so I have no idea on the attendance.
